Nagpur: Sadar Police have registered an accidental death case after an unidentified man, aged around 35 to 40 years, died during treatment at Mayo hospital. Investigators are also probing whether the death may be linked to heatstroke, as severe heatwave conditions continue across Vidarbha.
According to police, the man was found unconscious between 10.55 am and 11.30 am on April 23 within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station. He was immediately shifted to Mayo Hospital and admitted to Ward No. 39 for treatment.
However, during treatment, doctors declared him dead at around 8.30 pm on April 26.
The deceased has not yet been identified.
Given the intense summer conditions and soaring temperatures in Vidarbha over the past several days, police suspect the possibility of heatstroke and are awaiting medical findings to determine the exact cause of death.
An accidental death report has been registered and further inquiry is underway.
