Two Youths Arrested in Ajni for Carrying Deadly Weapons

Nagpur: In a proactive policing operation, the Ajni Police Station team arrested two youths for illegally carrying deadly weapons in the Vishwakarma Nagar area of Nagpur.


At around 3:10 AM on April 1, 2026, a police patrol team noticed two individuals behaving suspiciously near a garden in Vishwakarma Nagar. Upon seeing the police, both attempted to flee, prompting a chase. The officers successfully apprehended them.


The accused were identified as Tejas Roshan Ramteke (19), resident of Savitribai Phule Nagar, Ajni and Samrat Vilas Suryavanshi (19), resident of the same locality.


During a search conducted in the presence of witnesses, police recovered an iron knife concealed in Ramteke’s waistband and a kukri-like sharp weapon from Suryavanshi.


The seized weapons are valued at approximately ₹400.


A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act for possession of weapons with intent to commit a cognizable offense and violation of prohibitory orders. Both accused have been arrested, and further investigation is underway.
