Nagpur A major house theft incident has been reported under the jurisdiction of Gittikhadan Police Station, where unidentified thieves broke into a locked home and stole valuables worth ₹2.86 lakh in broad daylight.

The complainant, Chanchal Sachendra Manjhi (42), a resident of Ganesh Nagar, Dhabha area in Nagpur, had left her house locked between 12:45 PM and 5:20 PM on March 30 to visit Koradi for religious purposes.

Taking advantage of the absence, unknown culprits broke open the main door lock and entered the house. They accessed a steel cupboard in the bedroom and stole gold and silver jewellery.

Based on the complaint, police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against unknown accused. A search operation has been launched, and further investigation is ongoing.
