Nagpur: Pardi Police have registered a case against four accused, including two identified suspects, for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting two men after accusing them of stealing 15 tonnes of scrap near Green Line Transport on the Hyderabad–Jabalpur Highway Bypass in Nagpur.

According to the FIR, the incident took place between 11 pm on August 3 and 3 am on August 4, 2026, near a petrol pump and Green Line Transport in the Pardi police station limits. The complainant, Omkar Singh (35), a resident of Bhim Nagar Post, Mathura (Uttar Pradesh), who is undergoing driver training, had gone to the spot with his friend Golu Rajvir (33) to relieve themselves.

Police said the duo was approached by four men travelling in a black Mahindra Scorpio (MH-49-CS-6196). Two of the men allegedly confronted them, claiming that 15 tonnes of scrap had been stolenand demanded to know where the stolen material had been hidden. They allegedly assaulted Omkar with fists and kicks. During the commotion, Golu fled, but two of the accused chased him, caught him, and allegedly forced him into the Scorpio.

The complainant and his friend were then allegedly driven 5 to 7 kilometres to a secluded location, where they were repeatedly questioned about the alleged scrap theft and assaulted. One of the accused allegedly threatened them with a knife before both victims were brought back and released at the original location.

Based on Omkar Singh’s complaint, Pardi Police registered a case under Sections 140(3), 118(1), 3(5), and 135 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The accused have been identified as Ramzan Shah (30) of Yashodhara Nagar, Faizan, Yadav, and one unidentified accomplice. Ramzan Shah has been arrested, while efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused.

Police are investigating the motive behind the alleged abduction and assault and are verifying the accused’s claims regarding the alleged scrap theft.
