Stolen Valuables Worth ₹45 Lakh Returned to Citizens at ‘Property Return Ceremony’ Organized by Zone 4 Police

Nagpur: In a heartwarming Diwali gesture, Zone 4 of Nagpur City Police organized a ‘Property Return Ceremony’ (Muddemal Paratava Sohla) on the occasion of Dhanteras at Nandanvan Police Station on Saturday, October 18.


Under the initiative and guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 4) Rashmita Rao, the event was aimed at returning recovered or missing property to its rightful owners — giving citizens a special Diwali gift from the police department.


During the ceremony, gold and silver ornaments, cash, mobile phones, and two-wheelers worth a total of ₹45 lakh (105 items) were handed back to their owners by DCP Rashmita Rao. Citizens expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the police for helping them recover their lost belongings ahead of the festive season.


Speaking on the occasion, DCP Rao said that returning recovered property to its rightful owners is not just a responsibility but also a matter of pride for the police force. “Such initiatives strengthen public trust in the police and bring joy during festive occasions like Diwali,” she added, while commending the efforts of police officers and staff for their dedicated work.


The event was organized under the guidance of DCP Rashmita Rao N., with the active participation of ACP Pradeep Shiraskar (Sakkardara Division), ACP Narendra Hivre (Ajni Division), and Police Inspectors Vinayak Koli (Nandanvan), Pramod Pore (Sakkardara), Jaywant Patil (Imamwada), Mukund Kawade (Beltarodi), Nitinchandra Rajkumar (Ajni), and Hridaynath Yadav (Hudkeshwar).


The ceremony was anchored by PSI Shinde and API Rupali Sakpal. The program began with an introductory address by ACP Pradeep Shiraskar, followed by remarks from ACP Narendra Hivre, and a vote of thanks delivered by PI Vinayak Koli (Nandanvan Police Station).


Citizens attending the event described it as a memorable Diwali gift that reflected the commitment and compassion of the Nagpur Police in serving the public.
