Nagpur: A 63-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after a speeding motorcycle rammed into a scooter on Amar Nagar Road under the Hudkeshwar Police limits on Friday evening.

According to police, the victim Smt. Sushma Narendra Tiwari (63) was riding pillion on a Jupiter scooter (MH-49-AB-1274) driven by her nephew Pranay Tiwari (35), when a KTM motorcycle (MH-49-BM-8003) came at high speed and hit their vehicle.

Both riders fell on the road, leaving the elderly woman critically injured. She was rushed to Neuro One Hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.

Based on a complaint by Dr. Rashmi Vinod Shriprasad Tiwari (26), Hudkeshwar Police registered a case under Sections 279 and 338 of the BNS along with Sections 134 and 177 of the Motor Vehicles Act against the errant motorcyclist. Further investigation is underway.
