Nagpur: A reckless driving accident in the Yashodhara Nagar area of Nagpur has claimed the life of a 44-year-old man after he sustained serious injuries in a collision.

The accident occurred on March 7 around 10:20 pm near Automotive Square on Kamptee Road, close to a Metro Station.

According to police, Zubeda Ansari (39) was travelling with her husband Mohammad Jameel Ansari (44) and their 13-year-old son on an Activa scooter when a speeding Pulsar motorcycle (MH-40-CU-1119) allegedly hit their vehicle.

All three fell on the road and sustained injuries. They were rushed to Mayo Hospital, where the husband was later shifted to the Medical Trauma Centre due to critical injuries.

During treatment on March 14, doctors declared Mohammad Jameel Ansari dead.

Yashodhara Nagar Police have registered a case against the motorcycle rider under relevant sections for rash and negligent driving, and further investigation is underway.
