Crime Branch Solves House Break-in and Vehicle Theft Case; Goods Worth ₹7.66 Lakh Recovered

Nagpur: The Unit-5 of Nagpur Crime Branch has solved a house burglary and vehicle theft case reported in Hudkeshwar police station limits and recovered stolen property worth over ₹7.66 lakh.


According to police sources, the burglary took place between the night of March 9 and the morning of March 10 at a residence in Vinayak Nagar, near Gajanan Mandir in Mhalgi Nagar. The complainant, Lakshmidas Bharatdas Vaishnav (35), had locked his house and gone to Vijay Nagar with his family when unknown thieves broke the main door lock and entered the house.


The accused allegedly stole ₹12,000 in cash, gold and silver ornaments, and a Honda Activa scooter, with the total value estimated at ₹7.83 lakh.


During the investigation, Crime Branch officials traced two juveniles riding the stolen scooter during patrolling. Upon questioning, the juveniles confessed to the burglary and another vehicle theft.


Police recovered gold ornaments weighing 78.08 grams, silver ornaments weighing 144.43 grams, two mopeds, and a mobile phone, collectively valued at ₹7.66 lakh. The accused have been handed over to Hudkeshwar Police for further legal action.
