Ranapratap Nagar Police Nab Four in Burglary and Vehicle Theft Cases; ₹1.72 Lakh Property Seized

Nagpur: Nagar Police have cracked a house burglary case and uncovered two additional vehicle thefts with the arrest of four accused. The total recovered property is valued at ₹1.72 lakh.


The burglary occurred between June 19 and July 12, 2025, at Plot No. 59, Pioneer Society, Swavalambi Nagar. The complainant, Chandrakant Haribhau Dandekar (61), had gone to Pune, locking his house. On return, he discovered that unknown thieves had broken the main door and stolen silver utensils and two wristwatches worth ₹24,500 from his bedroom cupboard.


Based on the complaint, a case was registered under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).


During the investigation, police traced and arrested the accused:


  1. Deepak Mahesh Bagde (21), Panchshil Nagar
  2. Rahul Babarav Londe (26), Indraprastha Nagar, Sonegaon
  3. Uday Banti Malik (20), Gurudev Nagar, NIT Complex, Nandanvan
  4. Chetan Namdeo Kahate (48), Juni Shukrawari, near Gajanan Chowk, Kotwali



All four confessed to the burglary and two additional vehicle thefts in the Ranapratap Nagar area. Police recovered gold and silver ornaments, along with a two-wheeler, collectively valued at ₹1.72 lakh.


The operation was executed under the supervision of Additional CP Shivajirao Rathod (South Division), DCP Singa Reddy Rishikesh Reddy (Zone 1), and ACP Ashok Shelke (Sonegaon Division), led by PI Pankaj Bodse and his team.


Further investigations are in progress.
