Nagpur: The Ninth Armed Forces Veterans’ Day celebration will take place at the Headquarters Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar, Nagpur, on January 14, 2025. This significant annual event honors the selfless service and sacrifices of the nation’s veterans while commemorating the retirement of Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army, who retired on January 14, 1953.
Armed Forces Veterans’ Day serves as a heartfelt tribute to the invaluable contributions of veterans who dedicated their lives to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and integrity. It also highlights the challenges faced by veterans and provides a platform to address their concerns, inspiring better governance and engagement with the public.
The event will be graced by Mr. Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport & Highways and Member of Parliament, alongside various service and civil dignitaries. To assist veterans, dedicated query desks by agencies such as DIAV, DAV, SPARSH, DNV, ECHS, PSAS, PDAS, Banks, and Service Welfare Organisations will be set up at the venue.
