Nagpur: A 36-year-old milk vendor sustained serious burn injuries after his wife allegedly poured hot water on him during a domestic dispute at their home in Kawtha village under Koradi police station limits on October 8.
The victim, Nilesh Dashrath Tate, lives near the Hanuman temple in Kawtha village. According to his complaint, his 26-year-old wife, Karishma, frequently quarrelled with him over minor domestic issues.
The incident took place around 12.15 pm when Tate returned home after completing his routine milk delivery. While he was washing his hands and feet, his wife allegedly brought hot water in a steel bucket and poured it over him from the front.
Tate suffered burn injuries to his neck, chest, both hands, back and shoulders. He was taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Nagpur for treatment.
Based on Tate’s complaint, Koradi police registered a case against his wife under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Further investigation is underway.
