Nagpur: In a tragic incident, a 40-year-old security guard lost his life due to electrocution while on duty at Pushpakunj Apartment in the Ramdaspeth area under Sitabuldi Police Station limits here, on Sunday.

The deceased, identified as Prashant alias Bhimrao Pundlik Gajbhiye, was a resident of Bhagyalaxmi Nagar, Bidgaon, Wathoda. The incident occurred around 2 pm on April 20, 2025, when Gajbhiye went to operate a water motor near the building’s basement tank. He received a fatal electric shock and collapsed on the spot.

He was rushed to Arneja Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.

Based on a report filed by his son, Piyush Prashant alias Bhimrao Gajbhiye (18), Sitabuldi Police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigations are ongoing.
