RPF Nagpur Seizes English Liquor Worth ₹43,750 in Train During ‘Operation Satark’

Nagpur: In a decisive operation under ‘Operation Satark’, the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nagpur, intercepted and seized English liquor worth ₹43,750 from a passenger onboard Train No. 16032 on April 17, 2025.


Acting on specific intelligence and under the supervision of the Inspector, Crime Intelligence Branch (CIB), Nagpur, an RPF team—comprising a SIPF, Head Constable, and Constables—launched a surveillance operation from Amla Station. During the journey, two suspicious unclaimed bags—a rucksack and a trolley—were spotted beneath seat number 33 in Coach S-6.


Upon questioning, the passenger occupying the seat admitted ownership of the bags and confessed that they were carrying bottles of English liquor. The train reached Nagpur Railway Station at 9:15 am, where the passenger and the contraband were taken to the RPF Police Station for further investigation.


A thorough inspection of the bags led to the recovery of:


  • 10 bottles of Red Label whisky (750 ml each) valued at ₹29,800
  • 10 bottles of Blenders Pride whisky (750 ml each) valued at ₹13,950
  • Total bottles: 20
  • Total value: ₹43,750


As per protocol, the seized liquor and the passenger were handed over to the Excise Department, Nagpur, for further legal action.


This operation is part of Central Railway’s continuous efforts to curb illegal activities on trains and ensure the safety and security of passengers. The RPF’s proactive enforcement underlines its commitment to maintaining vigilance and upholding the law across the railway network.
