Nagpur: In a major crackdown on ticketless and irregular travel, the Central Railway’s Nagpur Division conducted an intensive ticket checking drive on Saturday, April 19, 2025, resulting in the recovery of ₹7.11 lakh in penalties.
The large-scale operation covered 22 trains and was executed by a robust team comprising 90 ticket checking staff, 8 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, and 5 Commercial Inspectors. The entire drive was closely supervised by senior Commercial Officers of the division.
During the operation, a total of 1,148 cases of ticketless or irregular travel were detected, leading to revenue generation of ₹7,11,080 through fines.
This drive is part of Central Railway’s continued efforts to enforce travel regulations and enhance non-fare revenue. Authorities have urged passengers to always travel with valid tickets to avoid penalties and ensure a smooth journey.
