Nagpur Police Crack Down on Illegal Liquor Sales; 34 Booked

Nagpur: The Nagpur City Police launched a special enforcement drive across all police station limits targeting illegal liquor sales. The operation included inspections of individuals, establishments, and open rooftop hotels suspected of unlawful alcohol distribution.


During the drive, police registered 33 cases against 34 individuals involved in illegal liquor sales and public drinking. Authorities seized liquor and related materials worth ₹80,070.


The operation also included checks on history-sheeters, recently released inmates from jail, and those previously booked under the Arms Act.


Cops also registered 2 cases under the NDPS Act and taking action against 2 accused individuals. Authorities seized narcotic substances and related materials worth ₹5,59,800.


Additionally, 2 gambling cases were registered against 4 individuals, with ₹3,015 seized.


Police also conducted a large-scale enforcement drive under the Motor Vehicles Act. A total of 3,057 drivers were penalized for offenses including drunken driving and other violations.


Authorities collected ₹2,56,050 in fines, reinforcing road safety compliance across the city. Police urged citizens to follow traffic rules and carry valid vehicle documents while driving.
