Nagpur: A fatal road accident occurred in the Sitabuldi police station area at around 12:15 PM on Tuesday .
The victim, Ritesh Pundlikrao Satpute (45), a resident of Prem Nagar, Itwari, was riding his motorcycle (MH-31 CT 2123) along the road near Prince Saoji Bhojanalaya, close to Metro Pillar No. 215.
An e-bus (MH-40 DC 2631) allegedly driven by Sheikh Sarwar Sheikh Sagir (28), resident of Hivare Layout, Wathoda Road, Nagpur, rammed into the motorcycle from behind at high speed in a rash and negligent manner.
Satpute sustained critical injuries and was rushed to Mayo Hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment.
Based on a complaint filed by his brother Shyam Satpute, Sitabuldi Police registered a case under:
- Section 281 and 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
- Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act
Investigation is underway.
