Nagpur: A 16-year-old JEE aspirant has gone missing from a coaching institute in Nagpur’s Sadar area, prompting police to register a kidnapping case against an unknown person.
According to police, the minor girl had been attending JEE coaching classes at an institute in the Sadar area for the past 10 days. On August 2, her father dropped her at the coaching institute at around 10.39 am before leaving for work.
Later, at around 2 pm, a family member arrived at the institute to pick her up but was informed that she was no longer there. At approximately 2.59 pm, the girl called her mother using a friend’s mobile phone and said she would be delayed in returning home.
However, when she failed to return for several hours, her family searched for her at the homes of friends and other possible locations but could not trace her.
Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, police suspect that an unknown person may have lured the minor away. A case has been registered at Sadar Police Station under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), corresponding to kidnapping of a minor.
Police have launched a search operation to trace the missing JEE aspirant and identify the person responsible. Officials are examining available evidence and verifying leads as part of the investigation.
