Nagpur: With preparations underway for Census 2027, a three-day district-level training program for census officials and staff has commenced in Nagpur. District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has urged all personnel to actively participate in the process and complete the assigned tasks on priority, emphasizing that the census is a crucial national responsibility.
Addressing trainees at the inauguration, Dr. Itankar said that census data plays a vital role in planning and implementing various public welfare schemes. “Census work should be carried out with a sense of duty. All officials must ensure active participation and timely completion of tasks,” he said.
The training program is being held from March 23 to March 25, between 9:30 AM and 6:00 PM at the Planning Bhavan in Sadar. It includes participation from district census officers, charge officers, city census officers, additional charge officers, clerks, and technical assistants.
During the workshop, participants are being trained on their specific roles and responsibilities at various levels of census operations. Practical sessions are being conducted on preparing house listings, conducting household enumeration, and using digital platforms such as the CMMS (Census Monitoring and Management System) and HLBC portal.
Dr. Itankar stressed the importance of completing census-related work efficiently and on time, adding that the three-day training aims to equip officials with the necessary skills for smooth execution.
The training sessions are being conducted by officials from the Directorate of Census Operations, Maharashtra, including Deputy Director Kavita Godbole, Assistant Director Prakash Jibhinakar, District Coordinator Pranay Kadukar, and Saurabh Singh.
Additional Municipal Commissioner Vasumana Pant, Deputy Commissioner Nirbhay Jain, and Resident Deputy Collector Anup Khande were also present at the workshop.
