Nagpur: In a swift action, the MIDC Police arrested a 22-year-old youth for allegedly threatening people with a deadly weapon in a public place near Hingna T-Point in Nagpur.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 12:15 AM on March 24, when a patrol team from MIDC Police Station was on night duty searching for suspects in the area. During patrolling, officials received credible information about a youth creating panic near Rangoli Bar by abusing and threatening passersby while carrying a weapon.
Acting promptly, the police team rushed to the spot and found the accused waving an iron knife and causing disturbance. He was immediately surrounded, disarmed, and taken into custody.
The accused has been identified as Yash Lalit Bhoyar (22), a resident of Ramkrishna Nagar slum, Dighori, Umred Road, Wathoda, Nagpur. Police seized an iron knife worth approximately ₹500 from his possession.
A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Arms Act (Sections 4, 25) along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act for violating prohibitory orders. Further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the guidance of DCP S Rushikesh Reddy, ACP Satishkumar Gurav, and Senior PI Gokul Mahajan, with the team including PSI Sanjay Bansod, API Pankaj Sayam, and other staff members.
