Nagpur: A family of five, including a 12-year-old boy and a 21-year-old woman, has mysteriously gone missing from Nagpur’s Dhantoli area, with police suspecting that mounting financial liabilities may have prompted them to disappear. Authorities, however, have clarified that all possible angles are being investigated.
The missing persons have been identified as Harsha Suresh Parswani (57), Jitendra Suresh Parswani (42), Ishita Jitendra Parswani (40), Khushi Jitendra Parswani (21), and Krishna Jitendra Parswani (12).
According to police, the missing family resided at Durga Sadan, Plot No. 40, Balraj Marg, Dhantoli, along with their extended family. The complainant, Shyamsunder Keematray Parswani (71), told police that the family of his late brother, Suresh Keematray Parswani, had been living in the same residence.
Investigators said the five family members left the house at around 6 pm on June 24 without informing anyone about their destination. When they failed to return, relatives searched for them at all possible locations but were unable to trace them.
After several days of unsuccessful efforts, Shyamsunder Parswani lodged a missing persons complaint at Dhantoli Police Station on June 29.
During the course of the investigation, police found preliminary indications suggesting that the family may have gone into hiding to avoid repaying outstanding debts. Officials stressed that this remains one of several possibilities being examined.
Speaking to Lokmat Times, Dhantoli Police Inspector Sainath Ramod said, “The investigation is still at a preliminary stage. We suspect that the family may have disappeared to evade repayment of loans. However, all angles are being probed.”
Police have also traced the last known mobile phone location of the missing family members to Pune, prompting teams to intensify efforts to locate them.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have appealed to the public to immediately inform Dhantoli Police Station if they have any information regarding the whereabouts of the missing family.
