Nagpur: In a targeted anti-narcotics operation, Hudkeshwar Police apprehended two men with 2.3 kg of ganja worth approximately ₹40,000 near Tapasya Chowk, Manewada Ring Road, on Monday, June 2, between 6:20 PM and 7:40 PM.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Splendor motorcycle (MH-31 BD-5853) and questioned the two suspects. They identified themselves as Sheikh Anwar Sheikh Jafar (30), a resident of Milan Nagar, Bahadura Phata, Nagpur, and Mohammad Imran Mohammad Majid (27), from Mehdipatnam, Toli Chowki, Golconda, Hyderabad.
Upon frisking, the police discovered ganja in a plastic pouch, along with two mobile phones and the motorcycle, totaling seized property worth ₹1 lakh. The accused confessed to possessing the contraband for illegal sale to earn profit.
A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 20(b), and 29 of the NDPS Act at Hudkeshwar Police Station. The investigation is ongoing under the guidance of DCP Rashmita Rao and ACP Narendra Hivare, led by PI Dnyaneshwar Bhedodkar and his team.
