Nagpur: In a major breakthrough, the Crime Branch in Nagpur has busted an interstate “hi-tech” burglary gang and arrested three accused, recovering stolen property worth ₹22.19 lakh. The accused, hailing from Haryana and Bihar, were found hiding in a guest house in the Ganeshpeth area.

Acting on a tip-off received on June 1, the anti-burglary squad launched a search operation across hotels and lodges near the railway station. The suspects were traced to a room at Harnur Guest House, where they were taken into custody.

The arrested accused have been identified as Raju Jaspal Singh (42) from Kurukshetra, Bhola alias Birendra Paswan (40) from Muzaffarpur, and Rajesh Shah (52) from Chhapra. Police recovered 143.58 grams of gold jewellery, 112.5 grams of silver ornaments, three mobile phones, ₹10,450 cash, and burglary tools from their possession.

During interrogation, the trio confessed to committing a major theft at a residence in Bhusawal (Jalgaon district), where a case had already been registered at Bazarpeth Police Station.

Police suspect the gang was planning another major burglary in Nagpur but was intercepted in time. Officials termed the operation a significant success against interstate theft networks. Further investigation is underway after handing over the accused to Jalgaon Police.
