Nagpur Builder Threatened for Extortion at Construction Site in Sadar, Accused Apprehended

Nagpur: Sadar police station have apprehended a 21-year-old man for threatening a builder and demanding Rs 7 lakh extortion at knifepoint here, on Sunday, April 6.


The incident took place at a construction site near Itara Apartment, Sadar, where the complainant Manmohan Mundhada, 48, was supervising the construction of a seven-storey building. 


On April 6, around 5:30 pm, the accused, identified as Lucky alias Gujjar Pavit Gaure, a resident of Navi Wasti, approached the site and threatened the builder demanding money. He allegedly said, “You’re constructing a seven-storey building here. Give me seven lakh rupees or you’ll be in trouble,” while brandishing a knife.


Following which, the complainant approached Sadar police with a complaint. 


Based on the complaint, Sadar police registered a case under Sections 308(5), 352 of the BNS and arrested the accused. Further investigation is underway.
