Lost to Found: Sitabuldi Police Recover 55 Missing Phones in Nagpur

Nagpur: In a major success under a special recovery campaign, Sitabuldi Police in Nagpur traced and returned 55 missing mobile phones to their rightful owners, bringing relief to dozens of citizens.


According to police, the operation was launched to track down mobile phones reported missing from areas under the Sitabuldi Police Station jurisdiction, which includes busy market zones and high-footfall locations where such complaints had increased in recent months.


Using technical analysis and IMEI tracking, the police team successfully traced and recovered 55 mobile phones belonging to different brands and companies. The total estimated value of the recovered devices is around ₹9.5 lakh.


The recovered phones were officially handed over to their original owners in good condition. Citizens expressed gratitude to the police after receiving their expensive devices back.


Police officials said the recovery operation highlights the increasing use of technology-driven policing to solve property-related complaints and improve public confidence.


The operation was carried out under the guidance of Nagpur Police Commissioner Dr. Ravinder Singal, Joint Commissioner of Police Navinchandra Reddy, Additional Commissioner of Police (North Division) Vinita Sahu, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 02) Annapurna Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police Kiran Popalghat, Senior Police Inspector Suhas Raut (Sitabuldi Police Station), and Police Inspector (Crime) Manish Kolhatkar.


The recovery team included PSI Shyam Warange, Head Constable Nandkishore Walde, Police Constable Shatrughan Munde, Prashant Bhoyar, Chetan Shende, and Vikramsingh Thakur, whose efforts led to the successful retrieval of the missing phones.
