Nagpur: Imamwada Police arrested a man for illegally carrying a lethal weapon during routine patrolling in the area.
On December 15, 2025, around 6.30 pm, the police received information that a man was roaming with a weapon near Arya Hospital on the road leading towards the TB Ward. Acting swiftly, the police team reached the spot and attempted to intercept the suspect.
Upon noticing the police, the man attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief chase. He was identified as Rajesh Prakash Gedam (26), a resident of Vakilpeth, Imamwada.
A search conducted in the presence of panch witnesses led to the recovery of a small steel sword concealed at his waist, valued at approximately ₹300. Police stated that the accused was carrying the weapon with the intent to commit a cognizable offence and had violated prohibitory orders.
A case has been registered at Imamwada Police Station under Sections 4 and 25 of the Arms Act, along with Section 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. The accused has been arrested, and further investigation is in progress.
