Nagpur: A 40-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted by her 41-year-old husband during a domestic dispute over his conversation with a female friend in the Sakkardara area of Nagpur on Sunday.
According to the police complaint, the woman was at home at around 3 pm when she allegedly found her husband talking to his female friend. She reportedly told him not to stay at their house and asked him to go and live at the female friend’s residence.
The remark allegedly angered the man, who abused his wife and assaulted her with fists. When she tried to defend herself, he allegedly hit her on the head and left hand with a wooden stick, leaving her injured.
The woman was subsequently taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Nagpur, for treatment.
Sakkardara police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The accused had not been arrested at the time of registration of the case.
