Nagpur: A major house burglary was reported in Kapil Nagar area of Nagpur, where unidentified thieves broke into a locked house and stole cash and jewellery worth ₹3.30 lakh.

According to police sources, the incident occurred between 11 pm on March 11 and 2 am on March 12 in Aminabad area under Kapil Nagar Police Station limits.

The complainant, a 40-year-old resident of the area, had locked his house and gone out with his family to attend an Iftar gathering. Taking advantage of the absence of the family, unidentified thieves allegedly broke the main door lock and entered the house.

The burglars then broke open two cupboards inside the bedrooms and escaped with cash worth ₹2.20 lakh along with gold and silver ornaments, taking the total value of stolen property to around ₹3.30 lakh.

Based on the complaint, Kapil Nagar Police have registered a case against unidentified persons and launched a search operation to trace the accused.

Police are currently examining evidence and investigating the case further.
