Nagpur: In a significant crackdown on ticket fraud, a fake ticket examiner (TTE) was arrested on the 20845 Bilaspur-Bikaner Express during a routine ticket inspection on January 25, 2025, between Bilaspur and Nagpur.
The vigilant ticket checking staff from the South East Central Railway’s Nagpur Division, including G.S. Patil, Arvind Vishwakarma, Vijay Kadav, and Kishore Moorthy, demonstrated exceptional diligence and alertness while conducting the inspection.
During the check, Kishore Moorthy noticed an individual suspiciously checking tickets without proper authorization. Recognizing the irregularity, Moorthy promptly apprehended the fake TTE and handed him over to the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Raipur station for further legal action. The incident was immediately reported to higher railway authorities.
Dilip Singh, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, South East Central Railway, Nagpur, commended the integrity, hard work, and vigilance displayed by the ticket checking staff.
He emphasized that such dedicated employees uphold the reputation of Indian Railways, ensure passenger safety, and inspire fellow colleagues to remain alert and committed to their duties.
