Nagpur: Nandanvan police have registered a case against an engineering student and two others for allegedly appearing in exams on behalf of another student. The accused include Ayush Vahane (19, resident of Bhandara), an engineering student, and his associates Virat Sonawane and Vedant Patil.

Ayush, who had failed the summer exams, was scheduled to retake them in October, with Priyadarshini College of Engineering as his assigned examination center. To evade the exams himself, Ayush reportedly arranged for Vedant Patil to sit in his place on October 23, followed by Virat Sonawane on October 25. Professors at the examination center noticed the irregularity and reported the matter to the Nandanvan police station.

The police have registered a case against the trio, and further investigation is underway.
