Bhandewadi Police have registered a case against the accused under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The case has been registered under Sections 118(1) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on the complaint lodged by the victim.

According to police, the complainant and the accused are brothers residing at Gandhi Kuti Plot No. 24, behind Dattakrupa Lawn, under Bhandewadi Police Station limits. The victim has been identified as Akash Bhumeshwar Nandurkar (31), while the accused is Shailesh Bhumeshwar Nandurkar (34).

Police said Shailesh is allegedly addicted to alcohol and frequently picked fights with family members after returning home drunk over trivial issues. On the afternoon of August 3, at around 12.30 pm, the accused allegedly came home in an intoxicated state and got into a verbal argument with his younger brother Akash over why he was not going to work.

The argument soon escalated, and the accused allegedly abused the complainant before attacking him with the iron bit of a breaker machine, striking him on the head and ear. Akash sustained injuries and was initially admitted to a private hospital before being shifted to Mayo Hospital in Nagpur for further treatment.

Based on the complainant’s statement, Bhandewadi Police have registered an offence against the accused and launched further investigation into the incident.
