Nagpur: A 43-year-old man was killed in a road accident after being hit by a crane near Harihar Temple, Small Factory Area, under the jurisdiction of Lakadganj Police Station, here, on Thursday, November 20 at approximately 6:30 pm.
The deceased has been identified as Paltu Kuwarsingh Nirmalkar, a resident of Plot No. 62, Minimatanagar, Pach Zopda, Kalamna.
According to police sources, Nirmalkar was cycling to his daily wage labor job when a Hydra crane, bearing registration number MH 49 BR 8392, allegedly driven at high speed and negligently by Mohammad Firoz Mohammad Nasir, aged 23, rammed into his bicycle. Nirmalkar sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Radhakrishna Hospital, Lakadganj, where doctors declared him dead during treatment.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s nephew, Narendra Santosh Nirmalkar, aged 35, Lakadganj Police have registered a case against the accused driver under Sections 106(1) and 281 of the BNS. The accused driver has been apprehended. Further investigations are underway.
