₹700 crore project to generate around 2,500 jobs; initiative expected to strengthen Nagpur’s position as an industrial hub in Vidarbha
Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that companies like XSIO must play a significant role in transforming Nagpur into a major industrial magnet and accelerating the development of the Vidarbha region. He emphasized that the state government’s industry-friendly policies are giving a positive push to the manufacturing sector and attracting major investments.
Fadnavis was speaking after performing the groundbreaking ceremony of Maharashtra’s first XSIO Intelligence-Integrated Advanced Industrial and Manufacturing Park at Linga area on the Nagpur–Amravati Highway.
The event was attended by Revenue Minister and Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Minister of State for Finance and Planning Adv. Ashish Jaiswal, MLAs Dr. Ashish Deshmukh and Charan Singh Thakur, Nagpur Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, and XSIO Industrial & Logistic Park Managing Director Ashish Agrawal, among others.
Manufacturing Key to India’s Global Supply Chain Role
Fadnavis stated that strengthening the manufacturing sector is essential for positioning India strongly in the global supply chain. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a developed nation by 2047 can only be achieved by boosting the manufacturing ecosystem.
He added that Maharashtra’s industry-friendly policies are helping the sector move in a positive direction, with increasing adoption of automation, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced technologies.
Maharashtra Aiming for $1 Trillion Economy
Referring to the state budget, the Chief Minister said Maharashtra’s economy currently ranks 30th globally, and the state is actively working towards becoming India’s first $1 trillion economy. The government has prepared a comprehensive roadmap to achieve this goal, and logistics and industrial parks like the one being developed by XSIO will play a vital role in realizing it.
He also expressed hope that XSIO will prioritize Nagpur while setting up future next-generation logistics parks across the country, helping strengthen the city’s position as a major industrial center.
Guest House Inaugurated, Tree Plantation Conducted
Earlier, Fadnavis inaugurated a guest house at the XSIO Advanced Industrial Park premises and also participated in a tree plantation drive.
About the XSIO Intelligence-Integrated Industrial Park
The XSIO Intelligence-Integrated Advanced Industrial and Manufacturing Park marks a major milestone in Maharashtra’s industrial infrastructure development. Supported by Blackstone, the project is being developed with an investment of over ₹700 crore.
The park will be the first intelligence-integrated industrial complex in Maharashtra, equipped with advanced technology infrastructure.
The project is expected to generate around 2,500 direct and indirect employment opportunities in Nagpur and nearby areas.
Designed as a smart campus, the industrial complex will feature an AI-based Building Management System and Digital Twin technology, which will help improve operational efficiency, optimize energy usage, and enhance overall productivity.
XSIO plans to invest ₹8,142 crore across Maharashtra, with the aim of creating more than 35,000 jobs in the state through its industrial and logistics infrastructure projects.
