Burglary Case Registered Old Kamptee; Gold and Silver Jewellery Lakh Stolen

Nagpur: The Old Kamptee Police have registered a burglary case after unidentified thieves allegedly broke into a locked house and stole gold and silver ornaments worth ₹1.41 lakh in Nagpur.


According to police, the incident occurred between 1 p.m. on June 21 and 11 a.m. on June 23 in the Gandhi Nagar area near the Bhaji Mandi and Vitthal Rukmini Temple under the jurisdiction of Old Kamptee Police Station.


The complainant, Anil Yalraj Karanwar (66), a resident of House No. F/476, Gandhi Nagar, had locked his residence and travelled to Pune with his family to visit relatives. During his absence, unknown burglars allegedly broke the main door lock, entered the house, and stole various gold and silver ornaments kept inside an iron cupboard.


The total value of the stolen jewellery has been estimated at ₹1,41,500.

Based on the complaint, Police Sub-Inspector Akshay Sawant of Old Kamptee Police Station has registered a case against unknown accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4).


Police have launched a search operation to trace the accused, and further investigation is underway.
