Nagpur: A case of burglary has been registered after unidentified thieves broke into a locked house in Hastinapur, Kalamna, and decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth ₹3.5 lakh.
According to reports, complainant Mohammad Zuber Ahmed (48), a resident of Plot No. 111, Hastinapur, Wanjara Road, had locked his house and gone with his family to attend a family function between October 20 and October 21.
Taking advantage of the absence, the thieves broke the lock and latch of the main door, entered the house, and looted ₹50,000 in cash and 60 grams of gold jewellery, collectively valued at ₹3,50,000 from a cupboard in the bedroom.
Following the complaint lodged by the house owner, PSI Kulsange (9834219741) registered an offence under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS against unidentified accused at Kalamna Police Station.
Police have launched an investigation and efforts are on to trace the culprits.
