Nagpur: Khaparkheda Police have cracked an armed robbery case within six hours of the incident and arrested four accused, including the complainant’s friend, while also taking a juvenile in conflict with law into custody. Police said the entire stolen property was recovered from the accused.

The incident took place around 6.10 pm on August 23, 2026, near Bina village on the Bina-Sangam Road under Khaparkheda police station limits. According to the complaint, a 32-year-old man from the Yashodhara Nagar area was returning home with his 25-year-old friend and two other female friends on two motorcycles after visiting Bina Sangam.

When they reached near Bina village, three men standing near a motorcycle allegedly stopped them. The accused abused the complainant and threatened him with a knife before allegedly snatching ₹49,800 in cash, a gold chain and a mobile phone. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at ₹2.96 lakh. The accused then allegedly fled from the spot on their motorcycle.

Khaparkheda Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Maharashtra Police Act and launched an investigation.

During questioning, police noticed that the accused had been targeted while his accompanying friends were left untouched. The complainant’s friend allegedly gave evasive answers, raising suspicion. Police examined his mobile phone and reportedly found that he had sent the complainant’s photograph and location to another person through WhatsApp.

Technical investigation subsequently revealed that the complainant’s friend, identified as Lakhan Badal Seth (25), had allegedly conspired with Saksham Sushant Dongre (20), Asif Mohammed Mustaqim Ali (19), Bhushan Sunilji Kamble (24) and a juvenile in conflict with law to stage the robbery.

All four accused were arrested within six hours, while the juvenile was taken into custody. Police said the accused confessed to the crime during questioning and the entire stolen property was recovered.

Further investigation is underway.
