Yashodhara Nagar Police Seize Banned Nylon Manja Worth ₹25,500 in Nagpur, One Arrested

Nagpur: In a late-night operation on November 27, 2024, Yashodhara Nagar Police raided a residence in Ashraf Nagar and seized a large quantity of banned nylon manja. 


Acting on reliable information, police raided the rented house of Sagir Israr Ansari, 49, and recovered 51 spools of nylon manja, valued at approximately ₹25,500.


Ansari was found in possession of the banned material, which he allegedly intended to sell for personal financial gain. The nylon manja, prohibited by law due to its environmental and safety hazards, was confiscated on the spot.


A case has been registered against the accused at Yashodhara Nagar Police Station under Sections 5 and 15 of the Environmental Protection Act, 1986. Further investigations are ongoing.


The operation was conducted under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Niketan Kadam and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Jaripatka Division) Vishal Kshirsagar. The team included Senior Police Inspector Ramesh Khune, Sub-Inspectors Suhas Raut and Ravikumar Sawatkar, and police personnel Sunny Matel, Rohit Ramteke, and Rahul Shetty.
