Nagpur: A 17-year-old boy was allegedly sexually assaulted by two men in the Sillewada area under Khaparkheda police station limits, prompting police to register a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to police, the incident took place between 9 pm and 9.30 pm on October 3 near a sand bunker close to the Sillewada Gram Panchayat. The minor, who works as a waiter at a hotel, was reportedly on his way home from work when the accused allegedly took him to the spot and sexually assaulted him against his will.
The boy subsequently informed his parents about the incident. Based on his complaint, Khaparkheda police registered a case on October 4 under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police have identified the accused as Irshad Siddiqui alias Kattha, 30, and Abhishek Munna Kaithal, 23, both residents of Sillewada.
Police officials, including DCP Ramesh Dhumal of Zone 6, ACP Ankush Khedkar of Kamptee Division and Khaparkheda Police Inspector Sachin Yadav, are supervising the investigation. Further investigation is underway.
