Woman’s Saree Catches Fire from Oil Lamp in Hudkeshwar Home, Succumbs to Burn Injuries at Nagpur GMCH

Nagpur: A woman from Hudkeshwar tragically lost her life due to severe burn injuries caused by a kitchen accident at her home.


The deceased, identified as Lalita Naresh Vinchurkar, (58), a resident of Plot No. 164, Mahatma Gandhi Nagar, suffered the injuries on November 25 at around 11:00 am.


According to police, Lalita went to her kitchen to fetch medicine and accidentally caught fire when her saree came in contact with a lit oil lamp kept near the home altar. The fire severely burned both her legs, leaving her critically injured.


Her family immediately rushed her to Government Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for treatment. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday, December 1 at 8:35 am, when doctors declared her dead during treatment.


Hudkeshwar Police have registered a case of accidental death based on medical reports. Further inquiries are underway.
