Nagpur: A woman posing as a customer managed to steal a gold bangle worth ₹2.80 lakh from the Tanishq showroom in Sadar on Tuesday, November 26, evening, leaving the staff deceived and the management alarmed.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. when the woman, estimated to be around 40-45 years old, entered the showroom and asked a salesgirl to show her various jewellery pieces. She spent nearly 30 minutes browsing through the collection, during which she slyly stole the bangle without arousing suspicion.

The theft went unnoticed until the showroom staff conducted a stock check at closing time and found the bangle missing. A review of the CCTV footage revealed the woman’s actions, confirming the theft.

Rita Pinto, the showroom manager, lodged a complaint at the Sadar Police Station. Based on the complaint, police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused.
