Trader Threatened With Harm To His Son For Extortion in Pachpaoli, Nagpur; Accused Apprehended

Nagpur: A grocery trader from Naik Talav, Pachpaoli, was repeatedly threatened with extortion and harm, leading to the registration of a criminal case and the apprehension of the accused by the police.


The accused, identified as Mangesh alias Bajrangi Suresh Chirudkar (21), a resident of Kanji House Chowk, Indira Mata Nagar. 


According to police sources, complainant Chandrashekhar Mahadeorao Gokhale (36), a resident of Naik Talav near Sant Kabir High School, operates a grocery store in Itwari. On October 15, at 11:15 p.m., while strolling near his house after dinner, a youth approached him and said, “You have built a beautiful house; you must give me ₹5 lakh. If you don’t, I will show you what happens within half an hour.” The youth then left the scene.


Two hours later, the same individual returned with a friend and called out to Gokhale, but he did not respond. Subsequently, the accused began calling Gokhale repeatedly, threatening him for money.


On November 26, 2024, at around 10:30 p.m., the accused approached Gokhale again while he was outside his home and said, “If you don’t give me ₹1 lakh right now, I will kill you and your child.”


Acting on Gokhale’s complaint, Pachpaoli Police registered a case under Section 308(5) of the BNS. Chirudkar  was arrested by police.
