Nagpur: A fatal accident on Monday April 28, morning claimed the life of a truck driver and left a cleaner seriously injured following a collision between two trucks on the Pardi flyover.
According to police sources, the accident occurred when a truck traveling at high speed from Jodhpur, Rajasthan, crashed into a stationary truck on the flyover. The impact was so severe that the stationary vehicle overturned, spilling the load of stones it was carrying across the road.
The deceased has been identified as Anil Vishnoi, 33, a resident of Jodhpur. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The injured cleaner, Shravanram Vishnoi, 42, also from Jodhpur, is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
The incident led to a major traffic snarl on the Pardi flyover, causing significant inconvenience to commuters. However, police personnel acted swiftly, clearing the road and removing both trucks to restore normal traffic flow.
Following the accident, one side of the Pardi flyover was initially closed to traffic. Emergency services responded promptly, transporting the injured to the hospital for immediate medical care.
Preliminary investigation by the police suggests that speeding and negligence were the primary causes of the accident. Further inquiry into the incident is underway.
