Nagpur: An 18-year-old girl was allegedly molested by a 22-year-old man near her residence in the Lakadganj area around 10:30 PM on April 26.

The accused, identified as Sachin Jagdishprasad Mishra, allegedly approached the victim from behind and touched her inappropriately, causing her distress.

The victim immediately raised an alarm, informing her father and brother, who apprehended Mishra and handed him over to the police.

Based on the complaint, Lakadganj Police registered an offence under Sections 74 and 75(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and took the accused into custody.

Further investigation is ongoing.
