Nagpur: Burglars decamped with cash, gold ornaments, and foreign currency worth ₹7 lakh from a locked house in Kashyap Colony, Shantinagar, while the family was away attending a wedding in Madhya Pradesh.

According to reports, the complainant Imran Khan Ayub Khan (38), a resident of Plot No. B/1, Kashyap Colony, had locked his house and gone with his family to Tirodi, Madhya Pradesh, between 9:30 AM on October 28 and 3:10 AM on October 29.

Taking advantage of the family’s absence, unidentified burglars broke the main door lock and entered the house. They allegedly opened an iron cupboard in the bedroom and stole ₹3 lakh in cash, 1,500 US dollars, and gold ornaments, collectively valued at approximately ₹7 lakh.

Following the complaint, Shantinagar Police registered an FIR against unknown suspects under Sections 305(A), 331(3), and 331(4) of the BNS.
