Nagpur: A 17-year-old boy died after being hit by a train near the Narendra Nagar overbridge in Beltarodi area late Monday night.

The deceased has been identified as Dipanshu Sunil Gedekar (17), a resident of Plot No. 67, Galli No. 4, Parvati Nagar, Ajni, Nagpur. The incident occurred around 10:20 pm on October 14 between railway pole numbers 831/11 and 831/13.

Police said Dipanshu was found critically injured on the tracks and was immediately taken to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), where doctors declared him dead.

Based on the information given by his brother Om Sunil Gedekar (22), Beltarodi Police have registered a case of accidental death. Further investigation is underway.
