Nagpur: The Social Security Branch (SSB) of the city police, under Operation Shakti, cracked down on a sex racket operating at an OYO property on Hingna Road and rescued two women late on Monday, September 15.
Acting on a tip-off, the SSB team raided OYO Urban Retreat, located at Plot No. 03, Renuka Complex, Rajendra Nagar Layout near Vasudev Nagar Metro Station, between 4:55 pm and 11:15 pm.
Police arrested four persons and rescued a young woman who was allegedly forced into prostitution. Those taken into custody have been identified as:
- Jayshree Santosh Solanki (38), a native of Bhatkuli, Amravati
- Salman alias Roshan Rajesh Dongre (36), resident of Hilltop Road, Ambazari, Nagpur
- Akshay Roshan Ramteke (32), resident of Kapil Nagar, Nagpur
Another suspect, Rajat Rajesh Dongre, is absconding and efforts are underway to trace him.
According to investigators, the accused lured the victim with promises of quick money and coerced her into the flesh trade for financial gain. Police seized cash and valuables worth ₹6.33 lakh during the raid.
A case has been registered under Sections 143(2)(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Sections 3, 4, 5 and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 at MIDC police station.
The operation was led by PI Rahul Shire with API Shivaji Nanaware, WHC Arti Chouhan, NPC Sheshrao Raut, PC Ashwin Mange, Sameer Shikha, Kunal Masram, Nitin, HC Kishor Thakre, and WPC Poonam Shende.
Police said further investigations are underway to uncover the full network and apprehend the absconding accused.
