Nagpur: Dr. Subhash Chaudhari, Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), passed away on Thursday morning after a prolonged battle with a liver ailment. He was undergoing treatment at Kingsway Hospital but succumbed to his illness on September 26. Dr. Chaudhari leaves behind his wife and daughter.
Dr. Chaudhari was appointed Vice Chancellor of RTMNU on August 8, 2020, by then Governor and Chancellor of Maharashtra universities, Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Prior to his appointment, he served as Professor and Principal of J D College of Engineering and Management.
Though appointed for a five-year term, Dr. Chaudhari faced suspension following allegations during his tenure. Despite the challenges, his contributions to the academic community were widely recognized, and his passing marks a significant loss for the university.
