Nagpur: The Security Branch of the Railway Protection Force (RPF), Nagpur Division, Central Railway, has reported robust enforcement and humanitarian achievements up to March 2026, underlining its commitment to passenger safety and protection of railway property.
According to the official performance report, the RPF registered 2,843 cases during the first quarter of 2026, resulting in the arrest of 2,607 offenders under various provisions of the Railway Acts. The enforcement drive led to the recovery of ₹16.05 lakh in fines up to March this year. In comparison, the division had generated over ₹1.05 crore in penalty collections during 2025, reflecting sustained action against violations across railway premises.
₹5.82 Lakh Railway Property Recovered Under RP(UP) Act
Under the Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, the Nagpur Division continued its crackdown on theft and illegal possession of railway assets. So far in 2026, property worth ₹5.82 lakh has been recovered against stolen property valued at ₹6.72 lakh, maintaining a strong recovery rate and reinforcing asset protection measures.
Special Operations: Narcos, Satark and Amanat Yield Results
Focused enforcement campaigns further strengthened the division’s efforts. Under Operation Narcos, seven cases were registered with seizures worth ₹12.40 lakh. Operation Satark resulted in 10 cases involving illegal liquor and tobacco, with confiscations valued at ₹3.43 lakh.
Meanwhile, under Operation Amanat, the RPF successfully traced and returned 72 lost belongings worth over ₹20.17 lakh to passengers, enhancing public trust and service standards.
67 Children Rescued Under Operation Nanhe Farishte
Emphasising its humanitarian role, the RPF rescued 67 children — 51 boys and 16 girls — under Operation Nanhe Farishte in 2026 so far. The rescued minors were provided assistance and handed over to appropriate authorities for rehabilitation and care.
