Metro Construction Material Worth ₹17 Lakh Stolen in Kamptee; Case Registered Against Unknown Accused

Nagpur: A major theft involving Metro construction material worth ₹17 lakh has been reported under Old Kamptee police station limits.


Complainant Tushar Prakash Kuhite (24), a security supervisor with a private guard agency providing services to a Metro contractor company at Khairi, stated that the incident took place on April 6, 2026, around 11 pm near pillar number 130 at Khairi village, opposite Kamptee bridge.


According to police, unidentified accused arrived in an Eicher truck (MH-22 AA 1897) and a motorcycle (MH-40 CY 2303) and began loading iron materials including pier cap plates and cap top side shutters into the truck. When a security guard noticed the theft and raised an alarm, the accused abandoned their motorcycle at the spot and fled with the stolen material in the truck.


Old Kamptee Police have registered an offence under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against unknown accused. Further investigation is underway to trace the suspects.
