Nagpur: Sitabuldi police raided Fusion Cafe in the Dharampeth area late Friday night and booked hotel staff and customers for allegedly operating and using an illegal hookah parlour.
The action followed inputs shared with Sitabuldi Police by Nilay Kashyap, a Shiv Sena leader from the Shinde faction, regarding the alleged illegal activities at the cafe. Acting on the information, police conducted a raid at the establishment and found hookah-related activities being carried out, following which the staff and customers present at the premises were booked.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are conducting further investigations to ascertain the details of the cafe’s operations and the involvement of those booked.
The raid is part of police action against establishments allegedly violating regulations governing hookah and tobacco use in the city.
