Father-in-law, brother-in-law booked for assaulting man during marital dispute in Nagpur

Nagpur: MIDC police have registered a case against a 55-year-old man and his 27-year-old son for allegedly assaulting a 32-year-old man during an attempt to resolve a dispute between him and his wife in Amarnagar.


According to the police, the incident took place between 11 am on October 1 and 3.15 pm on October 2 at the complainant’s residence near Ramai Buddhist Vihar in Ward No. 1, Amarnagar, Pothane, under the MIDC police station limits.


The accused have been identified as Mahesh Chaure (55) and Anil Mahesh Chaure (27), both residents of Om Nagar on Koradi Road, Pothane-Koradi. Police said the accused are the complainant’s father-in-law and brother-in-law.


The complainant, Dipeshkumar Rajkumar Maladhari (32), reportedly had frequent arguments with his wife over minor issues. According to the complaint, the accused visited his house to settle a dispute between the couple.


While the complainant was speaking with Mahesh Chaure, Anil allegedly abused him and assaulted him with fists. He further allegedly picked up a wooden stick lying outside the house and struck the complainant on his right palm, causing injuries.


The injured man was subsequently treated at Shalinitai Meghe Hospital in Wanadongri.


Based on his complaint, MIDC police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police said the accused have no previous criminal record.
